Black Sands Golf Course, previously named Beulah Municipal Golf Course, is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Beulah, North Dakota, on the south side of Lake Sakakawea. Located in North Dakota’s energy producing country, The course takes its new name from the black coal slag found in the bunkers.
The course first opened for play in 1953.
This is a nine hole course with grass and black sand bunkers around most of the greens. The course is generally wide open, but there is a ravine running throughout the design. In addition, there is a pond that comes into play on two holes.
Par for the course is 35. From the back tees, the course plays to 3,121 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,613 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 525 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 9, a par-3 that plays to 130 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 421-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 130 yard par-3.
